Not at all. Gympy welcomes children who are completely new to gymnastics, as well as children who already have experience
The best place to start is with a free trial. Your child can experience a Gympy class and our coaches can help you find the right place to start.
You don’t need to figure that out yourself. We’ll consider your child’s age and experience and advise you on the most suitable class.
Your child will join a suitable Gympy class and take part alongside the other gymnasts. Our coaches will help them settle in and get a feel for the gym.
Gympy offers recreational gymnastics for children from 4 years old.
Gymnastics classes take place Monday to Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings. When you enquire, we’ll advise you on the most suitable class and available times for your child.
We recommend 1–2 classes per week, but as a recreational club, gymnasts are welcome to attend additional classes if they’d like to train more.
Gymnasts should wear ski pants or tights with a fitted T-shirt that allows them to move comfortably.
Absolutely. Parents are welcome to watch their child’s class.
A make-up class may be arranged if your child misses a class for a valid reason, such as being unwell. Make-up classes are subject to availability.

We require 30 days’ notice for cancellation.

Gympy Stars is our skills and progression programme, giving gymnasts clear goals to work towards as they develop.

No. Gympy supports different gymnastics journeys. Some gymnasts may simply enjoy recreational gymnastics, while others may want to develop their skills further and eventually explore competitive gymnastics.
Gymnasts develop at their own pace. Gympy Stars gives them skills and goals to work towards as they progress.
Yes. Holiday Gym is offered during selected school holidays, subject to coach availability.

Yes. Gympy at School brings gymnastics, movement and play into schools, ECD centres and nursery schools through regular, age-appropriate sessions.

Yes. Our Home Schoolers sessions combine gymnastics, movement and play, giving children an opportunity to develop physical skills and enjoy being active alongside other children in home-schooling programmes
Yes. Adult gymnastics sessions are available by special arrangement.
